The brewery describes itself as offering high-quality traditional and regional dishes. The menu is therefore very extensive and you can discover many great things that are not necessarily more common in this style. Even well-known dishes such as Maultaschen can surprise with a new look and style, both visually and in terms of taste.
The staff make every effort to ensure that you have a good time at Erste Fracht. So you won't be left high and dry and will also be discovered if you have sought a table yourself without being noticed.
The name suggests two things. Firstly, there should be something brewed here and there are a lot of different things. Craft beer and even beer cocktails are on the menu and are inviting. As a pub, it could also serve breakfast, but that wouldn't necessarily be a given if you don't live in the building. However, it might be a clever move to invite other guests to the buffet as well in order to have better options and also to make the brewery inn better known.
BREAKFAST IN THE FIRST FREIGHT
Breakfast is served here from 07:00 and is therefore also suitable for early risers. Nevertheless, there is still something to eat until 11:00. If you arrive later, you will have to switch to the lunch menu.
The buffet takes pride of place on the menu. As it is a restaurant, there is a buffet. It makes economic sense to let other guests partake. Water, juice and a hot drink are included. However, this is not a matter of course.
If you don't want to help yourself to the buffet, there are still plenty of different options on the menu. From bread rolls with sausage and cheese to muesli and scrambled eggs, there's plenty on offer.
And there are also various cakes in the display case, which are not explicitly on the menu. Just ask the waitress for advice.
HOW TO GET TO "ERSTE FRACHT"
The Braugasthaus is located directly at Karlsruhe's main railway station. However, it is somewhat inconspicuous, so that even commuters have not yet noticed the new addition opposite the station. The Braugasthaus is right next to the entrance to the zoo, so the streetcar stops really are directly opposite. Thanks to its location next to the station, you can even get to the Braugasthaus from other parts of the city such as Oststadt or Weststadt in just a few minutes.
This location also makes the Braugasthaus the ideal place to have breakfast or lunch before visiting the zoo. The opening hours and happy hours in the evening are ideal for relaxing here at the end of a day in the fan-shaped city.
It's very easy to book a table here via OpenTable, but so far we haven't had to book a table, at least for breakfast.
