Opinions from Others

The following reviews were found on Google. However, they do not reflect our own opinion.

"I really enjoyed my visit. The focus is on the intersection of Technology and Arts. Its size and scope are tremendous and it is quite unique in its focus on Media Arts of the last 50 years. It is more than one ‘experience’ though. There were two large exhibition halls with rotating shows. There is a great permanent exhibit of Media Arts - though the exhibits change periodically drawing from its large collection. There is a floor dedicated to gaming (interactive) that appeals to young and old alike. Surprisingly, under the same copious roof, they house the Municipal Art Gallery of Karlsruhe, with quite a nice collection of paintings ranging from Christian icons to 20th century surrealists. The ‘small’ size of the collection and high quality is ideal for getting a taste without being overwhelmed. ZKM also houses a tech university, media library performance spaces and more. I hesitated in giving it a 5 jus because it really isn’t one thing or museum. But I have to say it seems to do each of its missions well so…"

"Visited with some colleague. Good parking in the basement. The tour lady was knowledgeable and passionate which made it more exciting. Nice culture heritage for Karlsruhe turned for the better. I love how they maintained the past while coloring it for the curious minds. The 3rd floor.is a paradise for kids of all ages 2 to 75 😊! Nice to visit alone, with a group or with the family"

"A great museum. Just huge territory with a lot of different exhibitions. Not only art, but different media or technical installations. Here everybody will be able to find something interesting for himself. Or 2 year and 7 year old kinds liked the museum very much. For the art part of the museum you definitely need a separate visit without kids - very and very interesting, and need time for every exhibit."

"Absolutely inspirational. Melting pot of modern art, media, new media and really pushes conceptual boundaries by a lot. Brilliant stuff. They have a whole gaming arena, modern installation and interactive art pieces, some of which are so profound that they truly leave a mark."

"We loved every second here and spent 3.5 hours walking the museum. A very kind docent named Emily spoke English with us and was very knowledgeable about the art in the room! We loved the interactive exhibits and that they had English placards beneath them as well. What a magical museum to bring a child! Those, too, who are children at heart!"
