PURiNO - All-rounder at Gottesau Castle

Tolles Frühstück mit Käse, Wurst und Brotaufstrich im Purino Karlsruhe
Tolles Frühstück mit Käse, Wurst und Brotaufstrich im Purino Karlsruhe

Surrounded by greenery with a wonderful view of Gottesau Palace, there is an Italian culinary gem that even many Karlsruhe residents have not yet discovered: Purino. They have definitely missed out on a gastronomic experience that can only be described as "perfetto".

The highest quality Italian cuisine combined with outstanding service and an extraordinary location - that's how you could describe the Purino concept.

And this - and you don't often experience this in the restaurant business - at any time of day or night. Purino can certainly be described as a perfect all-rounder.

The interior of the Purino is very spacious and there are generally no spatial limitations. Nevertheless, it does not feel like a large canteen. However, it can get a little busy in the evening because there are no things to dampen the noise.

In addition to the many seats inside, there are also plenty of seats outside on warm days. This is particularly popular with families. After all, you have a good view of the playground.

BREAKFAST AT PURINO

As expected, the breakfast menu is modest for a restaurant, but it is definitely not mainstream. There are delicious spreads at various breakfasts and all breakfasts come with a bread basket consisting of a farmer's loaf, Gassenhauerm snack bread and ciabatta. Breakfast is served on a wooden board and is very lovingly prepared.

For younger guests, the Bambino breakfast is available at a small price, with Nutella, honey, jam, cream cheese and a small bread basket, which should leave nothing to be desired for children.

There are few extras. For those with a hearty appetite there are scrambled eggs - with ham or tomato/mozarella, for those with a sweet tooth there are homemade pancakes; however, muesli lovers will be disappointed.

Juice lovers, however, are in paradise. In addition to the standard freshly squeezed orange juice, there are apple, carrot, orange and ginger juices. For coffee drinkers, there are lattes and latte macchiatos in various flavors or, for example, hot chocolate with espresso.

The range of delicious cakes was almost completely ignored. Two fresh cakes are always presented directly at the bar. The varieties vary, so you can't tell which ones they are. But you should always pay attention to them, because they are delicious.

HOW TO GET TO THE PURINO

The Purino has "its own" train station. There are lots of parking spaces and plenty of room for bicycles. Nevertheless, it can be tight both inside and outside with a free space. The proximity to Gottesauer Schloss should not be underestimated. When there is an open-air cinema, hundreds of people rush to the same parking spaces and trains.

"Be aware that waiting times for dinner can be too long ..drinks 25-30 min, food 50-60 min..😔 That’s why we prefer to go there for breakfast 🤗 instead of brunch or dinner: no crowds and very lovely place with its particular vibe. Overall, food is great, different varieties for any foodie, service is very friendly, lots of parking on premises, playground for kids nearby. Kids up to 6yo eat for free. Very kid friendly place. We loved it!"

"Went here a couple of weeks ago to celebrate with my family and it is pricey, I'll say, but the food was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the truffle ravioli, they were absolutely delicious. The drinks were good and the dessert was tasty as well."

"Great Spot vor for alfresco dining. A playground next to the outside area. Plenty of green spaces for bigger kids. The pizza and pastas are great. Been back twice already. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices."

"Purino does a good job of putting its own spin on Italian food. They have a big menu; I suggest trying one of the many bruschettas they have and getting a homemade pasta as well. They are located next to an elegant castle and a small park."

"We had pizza for dinner, one vegetarian with mushroooms and one with parma ham and bufala. Very disappointed by the quality of the pizza and the ingredients used. The dough is of low-quality, and it doesn’t resemble an Italian pizza at all. The ingredients used are also mediocre, parma ham which does not look and taste like parma ham at all. The tomato sauce used is also not particularly nice (to be kind), and even too little for the pizza. I did not have high expectations, but it went below it. There was also one hair in my girlfriend’s pizza - which is far from ideal, but somehow can happen. My rating is not due to that. Perhaps they have nicer things on the menu, but the pizza quality is so low and price not competitive, that it’s personally a no-go for me. Service rather slow but place was quite full."
