"Ordered a dish almost worth 30 Euros expecting that it should at least suffice my hunger but it turned out pretty disappointing mainly because of the small portion and the quality of the food. I expected my meal to be savory as I ordered steak with broccoli and fries. The fries was as if it was a day old and hard as if it had been reheated on a microwave or cooked in a very used oil. The steak was definitely of a small portion ( Bratar Karlsruhe for that price made the portions way bigger and yummier, if i am to compare). The service was good and on time, ambiance was also okay but I guess it’s better to just drink there and never order a dish. The over all concept of my dish was supposed to be simple but i definitely tasted something weird on the oil and the savor i had on my plate. If it was only of good portion and not weird oil, it could’ve been okay. I appreciate fancy restaurant concepts & would even pay for any costly meal but this is way far from that. It wasn’t worth it. (This was my 1st review) Unfortunately now I am disturbed with how the reply went. It is insane how someone can lie about such matters about me as a customer threatening to reduce the tip, when in fact, i paid my bill with my partner’s order altogether ( even with his small portioned fish meal, that also costed 27 Euros which he finished eating in less than 3 mins.)…. We paid in full and literally gave some tip which was i think only appropriate for the ironic meals. :))…. Would prolly give 10 euros or more if it weren’t for the dissatisfaction and disappointment. No threat on tips ever existed. It’s hard to get bad critics, but get your story straight! I sorry would’ve just sufficed, you clearly didn’t the have to twist stories and lie about it. (2nd review)"
Your breakfast
Breakfast differently on the mountain
Reichardtstraße 22, 76227 Karlsruhe

We got this tip from the BNN. In the article "The ten best breakfast cafés in Karlsruhe" from 2019, Bistro Anders on the Turmberg is listed.
Breakfast is served on the terrace on the Turmberg with a view of Karlsruhe. This is not an everyday offer, but on weekends you can have a great breakfast up there and enjoy the view.
The offer is as follows:
Winzersekt (0.1l), freshly squeezed orange juice, 1 croissant, 1 bread roll, cheese, sausage, butter, honey, jam, fruit & Bircher muesli, 1 hard-boiled egg, smoked salmon, 1 hot drink. 23,50 Euro
As this is an outdoor breakfast, you should always check whether the weather is suitable. The Turmberg is also a popular location for weddings and other celebrations, so it may well be that the bistro is not open to the normal public due to a closed party.

Opinions from Others

"Nice view with inconvenient self service and mediocre food. You need to wait in a line to order and pay (EC only) and then to wait in a line to pick up drinks. Then you go to the food truck and get your beeper, when it beeps it’s another line to pick up food. Food is somehow really mediocre, small portions, high prices. If you have a chance for a good weather, than a cup of coffee or wine would be really enough to enjoy the view (if you find a place to sit). This bistro could be extremely crowded that makes the place very unattractive."
"An amazing view over Karlsruhe and the summer sunset! Flammkuchen served with a delicious selection of wine are plus points. 🌄 Anders' restaurant management should rethink their sympathetic behavior towards guests. Toilets could be cleaner."
"A nice restaurant by the Turmberg where you can grab a quick snack and drink with an incredible panoramic view of Durlach and Karlsruhe. Not too overpriced, with small portions but tasty flavors. The service is really fast, and efficient. Available mostly in German but one girl was able to help me with some English questions. The process is a bit different but it works. You sign in with your contact info via the Luca app or paper form for corona safety. You get a magnet and a menu. You pay at the entrance for your food, order food from the “food truck” and drinks from the bar. Very competitive seating lol. Everyone wants to be close to the edge, of course. They kind of have a bug problem, so beware of that if you’re allergic to bees or wasps, as they constantly linger around and even like to land on drinks and food. Can get stung if you don’t notice. Achtung! Payments accepted in cash or card. Easy to get to, but paid parking nearby. Also has electric connection for electric cars."
"Food was superb and so was their outdoor seating. Just be patient when waiting for patrons to leave and be quick to grab a table/seats. I didn’t give full stars for service as it was self serve. You place an order at the counter and get your food when ready."
