Leckeres Frühstück im Café Juli. Man sieht ein Croissant, Früchte und diverse Brotaufstriche

Café Juli is a young and popular café in Karlsruhe's Weststadt district, which specializes primarily in breakfast. The team is young and friendly. The space is optimally utilized, but you don't feel cramped. The prices are moderate. Even though they specialize in breakfast, they also serve salads and savoury dishes, which you can enjoy until the evening. At this time you can also enjoy cocktails.

You can make a reservation at Café Juli. But fortunately there are a few rules when it comes to reservations. Only half of the seats in the café are available for reservation. The seats in front of the café cannot be reserved either. This gives you the chance to go to Café Juli spontaneously. However, Café Juli is very popular and you have to be lucky to get one of the free seats. The frequency of new guests is definitely higher than the number of guests who leave the café.

If you would like to give and share the "Café Juli" experience as a gift, you can purchase vouchers here. The recipient should be advised to make a reservation. And maybe they'll take you with them for the tip.

Breakfast at Café Juli

Café Juli is primarily designed for breakfast. The kitchen is open until 14:00. You can also eat something after that, but this is limited to the dishes in the display case. But even that should be enough. The selection is surprising when you visit Café Juli for the first time. It seems rather small, but the menu is very good. In addition to the items on the menu - coffee, tea and various breakfasts - there are also cakes and muffins in the display case. There are also various seasonal specials. This is a kind of culture at Café Juli, which also offers something for vegans. The kitchen has a lot to offer, that's its culture.

It is noticeable that Café Juli opens at 07:30 on Saturdays. During the week, the café opens "only" at 09:00, on Sunday at 10:00. The early opening is due to the market on Saturday.

How to get to Café Juli

Café Juli is located on the popular Gutenbergplatz and therefore in a popular and densely populated residential area. This makes parking quite difficult. Especially on Saturdays when there is a market on Gutenbergplatz, it can be extremely difficult to find a good parking space. However, the Yorkstraße train stop is not far from the square, making it easier to get to Gutenbergplatz. It is also not far to Schillerstraße, where you can use other trains.

"Little nice cafe with variety of breakfast and pastries and sandwiches too. They have nice coffees and good range of tea. The interior is a bit small and in need of some refreshing look. The staffs are kind and helpful but sometimes it takes a long time to make an order, perhaps additional staff is needed. Overall great place for quick coffee or drink."

"Top! One of the best breakfast in the city. Parking is easy and free when there is no weekly market. You need to have a reservation at least a week in advance. Big variety of dishes and drinks. Kid friendly. Highly recommended"

"Average food, service was good when the people started disappearing (management could be improved). The air was good when there was not that many people, else it's somewhat noisy. Overall just so-so, but probably still one of the most decent one in the city."

"We waited 40 minutes for a croissant with red fish.. They didn't apologize and brought us fried eggs and fish. It looked like snot. The carrot cake was very dry. The waiters were unpleasant."

"This is a nicely designed café with friendly and very accommodating staff. However, I find the their menu items overpriced. A single buckwheat pancake (vegan option) topped with fruits and served with maple syrup and plum marmalade costs almost €10. A smoothie is around €6, while tea (in a teabag) is around €3,20. A serving of 2 sunnyside up eggs with a slice of bread and some bits of bacon is around €9. Food tastes okay, nothing too fancy or special about it. It could be more reasonably priced. I've been here twice. The first visit was quite okay. After the second visit, I felt like I didn't get my money's worth."
